E-mobility expert to follow on LinkedIn

Imagine growing up in a dry climate place with low rainfall levels, would that ignite your curiosity? Would you be curious to be part of something that uses this phenomenon to its advantage?

Our must-follow on LinkedIn this week started out a a curious kid and rose to a trailblazer in electric mobility. Meet Magdalene (NZIVA) Maluta, Head of Operations at Waya Electric.

Magdalene’s journey is anything but ordinary. Growing up in a semi-arid region, she saw climate change up close and thought, “Nope, we need to fix this!” so she did something. Now, as the Head of Operations at Waya Electric, she’s rewiring Kenya’s transport scene. Think tuk-tuks, but make them electric - sleek, silent, and zero emissions. She’s making sure clean transport isn’t just a city thing, but a Kenya thing.

Before Waya, she was at eWaka Mobility Limited, diving deep into sustainable transport solutions. With a background in Industrial Engineering and Management, she’s all about mixing tech, data, and engineering magic to power up Africa’s e-mobility future. She’s cracking the code on cleaner rides, from battery chemistry to vehicle automation.

Clean transport isn’t just a city thing - it’s a Kenya thing.

But it’s not just about the big cities, her hometown, Matuu, and other rural areas are hopping on the electric wave too. Whether she’s test-driving e-tuk-tuks in Mombasa or fine-tuning battery performance in the countryside, Magdalene is on a mission to make transport quieter, greener, and more efficient.

If you are passionate about sustainable transport, and clean energy, or just love incredible innovations, Magdalene is your go-to. She breaks down EV tech, shares real-life experiences, and keeps you ahead of the e-mobility curve.
