Glovo and Salad Africa team up to unlock $62m in financing for Nigerian SMEs

Salad Africa, the rising fintech shaking things up in the lending space, has joined forces with Glovo, the popular delivery app, to roll out a fresh SME financing programme for Nigerian businesses using the Glovo platform.

What’s the big deal? This initiative offers quick, collateral-free loans ranging from ₦50,000 ($31) to over ₦100 million (around $62,000) to help small and medium-sized enterprises grow faster, without the red tape of traditional banks. Behind it is Salad’s embedded lending tech, making it easier than ever for merchants to access working capital.

Why does this matter to you? When small businesses grow, they hire. From logistics and operations to finance, customer service and marketing, this kind of scale-up creates real job opportunities. It's especially promising for young professionals looking to break into the tech-enabled SME or gig economy space.

Salad Africa is aiming for ₦1 billion ($623,000) in monthly disbursements, and with over 1,500 SMEs already supported, this partnership with Glovo is set to take things up a notch. If you're exploring career paths in fintech, small business development, or startup ecosystems, it’s worth watching these moves.

You could be part of the team helping these businesses grow or even building your own.
