Decoding this job ad: Receiving Clerk at Rubicon

Rubicon, a tech company running EV charging stations, is hiring a Receiving Clerk in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
What you need to know:
You'll be handling deliveries, verifying shipments, resolving any arising issues, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations.
Accuracy is everything - mistakes can cause major disruptions.
Let's break it down
What you need to succeed in this role:
Physical Stamina – You’ll be unloading shipments, checking goods, and organising storage areas. If you’re not physically fit, this job will wear you down fast.
Thrives Under Pressure – It’s a fast-paced environment. You’ll be ensuring deliveries match invoices, all while keeping up with the workflow. Clients expect efficiency, so there’s no room for delays.
Attention to Detail – a single mistake, like one wrong digit on a shipment’s serial number can cause chaos. Your job is to double-check goods against supplier invoices and ensure all inventory transactions are accurate.
Strong Communication – You’ll need to relay accurate updates, clearly and quickly. Delays lead to unhappy clients, which leads to a frustrated boss, which might lead to you being fired.
Focus & Discipline – The work is fast-paced, and distractions lead to mistakes. From checking on deliveries, and ensuring all stock is removed to making sure the receiving area is locked, you need to be sharp and fully present to minimise mistakes.
Integrity – If you’re not honest, this isn’t the role for you. Mistakes or dishonesty here could have serious consequences for the entire company.
"Receiving Clerk" might sound simple, but this role is the backbone of warehouse operations.
If you struggle with pressure or multitasking, this isn’t for you, but If you’re efficient, detail-oriented, and can handle a high-speed work environment, this is your chance to make an impact.
