Good to follow on LinkedIn: Ifeanyi Orajaka

Ifeanyi Orajaka is the founder and Chief Executive of Green Village Electricity Projects Ltd (GVE). He founded GVE in 2009 as an intern, aiming to create a reliable, sustainable, and affordable solution to tackle abject energy poverty in rural Nigerian communities. Working with his co-founders, he found an answer in solar mini-grid systems.

Nigeria's energy sector faces both significant challenges and promising opportunities. While the country possesses vast oil and gas reserves, access to electricity remains limited, with a large portion of the population relying on fuelwood and backup generators. The Nigerian energy transition is progressing through the expansion of renewable energy, improved energy efficiency, and efforts to increase access to electricity.

Ifeanyi’s work at GVE is making clean, reliable energy a reality for off-grid communities. From his LinkedIn profile, you’ll find updates on energy access in rural Nigeria, renewable energy trends, and GVE’s impact. Follow him for inspiration and insight into Nigeria’s clean energy journey.

Funding opportunities in the green sector

Are you working on a project that could transform the future of energy, water, or environmental sustainability? Here are a few open tenders that might be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for:

  • The United Nations Development Programme South Africa has issued a tender for climate finance advisory services in support of the G20 presidency.

  • The South African National Biodiversity Institute has issued a tender for the installation of a 30 kW rooftop solar PV system at the administration building of the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden in Betty's Bay.

  • Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited - Request for Bids for the design, supply, and installation of the Kabarnet–Rumuruti transmission line (Open Competitive Bidding – International).

  • Kenya Power - Request for Expressions of Interest for proposals in Information & Operational Technology, and a Restricted Tender for the procurement of an Advanced Distribution Management System.

Networking is everything. So many roles in this space are filled through referrals, I’ve closed countless positions just through my network. Immerse yourself in the ecosystem, build real connections, and remember: your network is truly your net worth
